Innovation DōJō: is a footwear research, development & collaboration Lab. Focused on exploring creative ways to improve footwear function & design, beginning at the human foot. Utilizing a holistic & multidisciplinary approach towards Art, Culture, Technology & Natural Movement.
We’re a global community of health advocates on a mission to help humans reclaim strong, functional and painfree bodies (….starting at feet) through foot health education.
Our goal is to empower people with the knowledge they need to protect their bodies from the dangers of modern life and provide simple guidance on restoring functional, painfree and resilient feet & hips.
Mike Friton possesses a stellar portfolio of footwear design work, with over thirty years of experience in this profession. His journey started at the Bowerman Lab, an athletic "Think Tank" created by Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman, before he joined Nike in 1998. During his time at the company, Friton created iconic models such as the Nike Presto and the Nike Woven, before leaving them in 2011 to establish his own company, Friton Design. Here at Friton Design there's no limitations on creativity. The 1800 square foot lab produces some of the most iconic prototypes to date. Mike faces challenges with poise and operates at a higher frequency. I've never met anyone with a passion like him.
